This week I was due to speak in the Commons Debate on the Trade Bill. As sometimes happens, I was listed to speak but not called due to time. I was going to stress the importance of upholding our high animal welfare and farming standards in future trade deals and also press the case for Carlisle Lake District Airport in the constituency to achieve Freeport status. This would boost trade options for our area and be a major lift for our local economy.
