Dr Neil Hudson, MP for Epping Forest, has praised the vital work of the Dennis and Dyer Boxing Academy in Debden, reaffirming his support for their role in the local community.
The Academy partners with schools across Epping Forest to provide alternative learning opportunities for young people who find mainstream education challenging. Through these tailored programmes, the Academy helps pupils build confidence, discipline, and resilience.
Beyond their school partnerships, Dennis and Dyer Boxing Academy also runs a wide range of community classes. These include sessions for under-10s, 11–15-year-olds, and women, alongside a popular Mums and Buggies class. This unique initiative allows mothers to exercise while bringing their babies, removing the barrier of childcare and offering a supportive environment to rebuild physical, mental, and emotional well-being after childbirth.
Having previously visited the Academy and met its dedicated team, Dr Hudson has seen firsthand the positive impact of their work across Epping Forest, with numerous success stories of young people whose lives have been transformed through the Academy’s support.
Marc Dennis, Director of Dennis and Dyer Boxing Academy, said:
“Dennis and Dyer were honoured to get a visit from Dr Neil Hudson MP, especially on his own time on the weekend. We were able to show the importance of the club and what it does for the community.”
“His presence and openness to talk to the kids and adults in attendance was very appreciated and warmly received.”
Dr Hudson, MP for Epping Forest, said:
"Dennis and Dyer Boxing Academy is doing incredible work here in Epping Forest, not just by supporting young folk in education but also by creating opportunities for the wider community to get involved.”
“Their innovative Mums and Buggies class is a brilliant example of how local organisations can make a real difference to people’s lives."
