Dr Neil Hudson, Member of Parliament for Epping Forest, recently welcomed Loughton‑based firm Haslers to Parliament as they celebrated their 75th anniversary, joining actor and campaigner Ross Kemp to mark and speak at the occasion.
Haslers was founded in 1951 by Harry Hasler at his home in Seven Kings, Ilford, before moving to South Woodford in 1973, then to Woodford Green in 1977, and finally settling at their Loughton base in 2005. Over the decades, the firm has grown into one of the UK’s top 100 accountancy, tax and business advisory practices and is a long‑standing member of the UK200 Group, the country’s leading network of independent professional services firms.
Alongside their professional success, Haslers have built a strong reputation for community engagement. In 2007, they established a formal work‑experience programme and began working closely with local schools to support young people. The following year, the Haslers Foundation was created and registered as a charity, with the firm committing one per cent of all profits to support its work. Since then, the Foundation has donated more than £250,000 to charities across East London and Essex, including Haven House Children’s Hospice and 3Food4U.
In 2010, Haslers introduced a staff volunteering scheme to further strengthen their contribution to the local community. Since 2017, volunteers from the Haslers Foundation have also supported Loughton Voluntary Care by providing drivers to help residents attend Christmas meals and other social events. Dr Hudson recently visited Loughton Voluntary Care to hear more about their vital work and the difference this support makes, and he regularly engages with the 3Food4U team.
