Dr Neil Hudson, MP for Epping Forest, joined Alzheimer’s Research UK along with leading dementia researchers and Government ministers in Parliament recently, and is backing their calls to accelerate progress towards new dementia treatments.
The event gave them the chance to talk about the latest breakthroughs in dementia research and opportunities for better diagnosis and treatment of dementia.
Dr Hudson’s long-standing advocacy for better research and treatment for those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia has led him to become an Alzheimer’s Research UK Dementia Research Champion, pledging to support action that revolutionises how dementia is diagnosed, treated, and researched.
Earlier this year, he also showed his support for Dementia UK at their Parliamentary event, uniting with Epping Forest constituent and Admiral Nurse Caroline Scates to address the need for better palliative care for those living with dementia.
With dementia affecting many families across Epping Forest and with numbers across the UK predicted to rise, research is crucial to turning the tide.
