Dr Neil Hudson, Member of Parliament for Epping Forest, recently visited Ivy Chimneys Primary School in Epping, where he met with Head Teacher Rebecca Sigston, toured the school, and took part in a lively Q&A session with pupils.
A range of topics was discussed during the visit, with particular focus on concerns around traffic and the lack of safe pedestrian crossings outside the school. Following his meeting with the Headteacher, Dr Hudson committed to contacting the Council to try and seek a resolution to these road safety issues.
As part of the visit, Dr Hudson joined pupils from Years 3 and 4 for an energetic and wide-ranging Q&A session. The children were eager to learn more about life as an MP, asking questions about his daily responsibilities, how Parliament works, and the purpose of elections. They also raised thoughtful issues, including pollution, climate change, littering, and what young people can do to help protect the environment.
Dr Neil Hudson, MP for Epping Forest, said:
“It was a delight to visit Ivy Chimneys Primary School and meet some of their wonderful pupils, who are all a real credit to their families and school.
“The school is a very happy and inspiring place to visit. However, after speaking with both the Head Teacher and the children, it is clear that ongoing concerns about road safety are having a real impact on the school community. I am contacting the Council to push for measures that can help address and mitigate this issue.”
